My Pregnant Guppy Died In My Breeding Tank After 1 Day!! Now I'm Scared To Put The Other 1 In!! | 4 comments (2 topical, 2 editorial, 0 hidden)
How big was your breeding tank? Some (none / 0) (#2)
by unclescott on Mon Nov 06, 2006 at 09:13:27 PM PST

pretty good breeders get away with one gallon drum bowls with 100% water changes a day from an established tank.

Others are more comfortable with larger tanks in the 5 or 10-gallon range. (As NGM suggested, please click on the Immediate Help Link in the upper left corner for more ideas.)

If your breeding tank was one of those little "Plastic Boxes 'o Death"  it is unfortunately not a surprise that your female died either of suffocation or shock. :(

There is a thread on that in the Breeding section too.

All the best!
