Re: 2 types of Filters OK? (none / 1) (#4)

I have only had my biowheel a few weeks, but I can tell you I had a 55 gallon with 2 whisper filters, changed my water at least biweekly, did everything...and my fish got sick with some mysterious disease. However, my friend Shannon has a 29 gallon tank, feeds them only every other day or so, never cleans the water, and her kids are always dumping crap in it...like more fish food (she did clean it then), grapes, lotion, etc...her little boy even gets IN the tank. And you know what? Those fish are HEALTHY! They're the same kind as mine...and some of them used to be mine, too. The only thing we can find she has better than me is a bio-wheel. So I got one when I broke the tank down. I think it works great. So far, it's been 1.5 weeks and no more than 0.5 ammonia. I know another website that sales fish will ONLY warranty them if you have a biowheel (they don't make them) because they're so good. So there must be a difference.:)
