2) Temperature: 76 (Had to replace the heater because it got down to 66-68 yesterday)

3) Ammonia: 0.0.

4) pH: 7.2 :)

5) Fish behavior: Eight are VERY happy and moving around...haven't seen them hanging at the top. One, however, just sits...and seriously looks dead except he sits upright (I chased him with net and he moved then). Will keep an eye on him.

6) Water color: Clear.

for the benefit of those just joining us: if your heater isn't doing what it should do, check to see that it is fully plugged in. Maybe check to see that the outlet is working correctly.(Got a night light to try?)

If if the heater still seems suspect, for heaven's sake and your sake UNPLUG that sucker before fiddling with it. A leak or crack in it may be part of the cause of the malfunction. We don't want you malfunctioning as a result of that. :)

oh, it was plugged in...light came on and everything...just wouldn't heat. I was within 2 days of the end of a 2 year warranty, so I shipped it off. I'll give it to another friend who has some frozen fish (not literally..just between 65 and 70 degrees) because she can't afford one and hers broke. <crosses fingers> But thanks for the warning. ;)
