Forget the mollies.. (none / 0) (#2)
by angelhologram on Sun Oct 29, 2006 at 03:54:56 PM PST

...there's angelfish in that tank! While beautiful they probably would be more appropriately named devilfish because of their tendency to pester other fish. Watch for fin and tail shredding of your guppies as those "angels" get bigger. With all those other fish in the tank your momma may have had other fry that were eaten before you even knew they were there. As far as holding goes, yes they can stall there labor for a while but should finish birthing within the next couple days. Anothe possibility is a long labor. I've had them last about 1 1/2 days. A final suggestion is she ay be having trouble giving birth. A few of us on here have had that happen and unfortunately there is nothing you can do to help her along. Watch for her to strain for long periods of time with no resulting fry.
*BEFORE you buy fish make sure you understand what "Cycling" a tank means <- quoted from miskaral* ~Trying to make a difference one fish at a time~

Ive had huge angel fish in a community and they havent perstered or nipped. Again i think it depends on the indvidual fish.
