Yes yes! the work has definantly been paying off.....my largest guppy still has trouble with the net, but he is very calm when I finally get him into the breeder box. (since I might use it to breed two pairs of guppies at a time, one in the breeder, one in the open tank. Well, the large guppy is getting very smart...he knows all the right places to run so that I can't get him without knocking over all of the plants and a large rock in the tank. So he knows I won't bother with all the trouble. I just sit there and wait for him, then swing the net up so quick and into the breeder that he doesn't seem to realize I ever got him. He just looks at his new surroundings, and maybe the other fish in there with him, then adjusts! he's so funny!

I wonder how he'd go if you caught him in the net and then holding him still in his tank, fed him a tiny bit in the net before moving him? Just a thought - it might teach him the net is a good place????

yes actually, I do use a similar technique....well, I give each fish a small bit of food each time they are put into the box breeder. First plus is...it distracts them and gives them something to do so that they never start to panick or get agressive toward any other fish, and second plus is...it lets them learn that the breeder and being transported is not bad and has a reward at the end! so yes, great minds think alike!!! hehe....
