Now that you mention it, what they were doing looked a likkle like "sniffing" (both head to the other's fin, swimming in a circle).  I guess I should keep a lookout for fry soon `<;-)

When they drop fry, female guppies are supposed (none / 0) (#3)

to release pheromones which inform males that the females can be impregnated for the two days after dropping. (Like male guppies needed anymore motivation!) I wonder if, just prior to dropping, if some females leak a bit of that chemical cue.

Ed, you and miskairal, are both quite perceptive in noticing that. No wonder the males are boogying all over the place. :)
