You've gotta be you!!!

I hope your son's ankle heals quickly, but from the sound of it, looks like slow going for a while.

Hey, enjoy your travels, I'm jealous.

Especially after you sent me those photos of OZ.

Still would love to visit, heat and all.

I was on the Sunshine Coast unc, not the Gold Coast (difference of about 3 hours drive I think). Hey guess what I learnt to do by myself? Fill up my car with fuel! Yes, everyone here is laughing at me too but in this tiny town we still have attendants to come out and do that for you and I haven't been able to drive more than 2 hours away from here for a long, long time. My Dad's jaw hit the floor when I asked him to come with me to show me how to do it.

Went to a fantastic aquarium a couple of days ago. So clean, no sick or dying/dead fish, just oodles of healthy, happy fish. The owner is a fish fanatic who left me for dead with his knowledge. I discussed setting up a reef tank with him and he reckons I'd have few problems and that he'd help me choose the right fish and start from scratch.

You know what has amazed me more than anything though? My fish at home are healthier and happier without me running round after them. That's exactly what happened with my parrots years ago. I used to run round keeping everything as perfect as I could and then when I started the dairy they got a bit neglected but they all thrived and only died of old age after that.

My theory - I'm overcleaning the tanks and not letting the good bacteria get a good chance to do their thing AND maybe overfeeding. I'm going to try staying at the 2nd weekly water changes for a bit and see what happens - can't be worse than I was doing.

Cheers to all (I'm away again 'til the end of the week - ain't life grand! )

We don't pump our gas here in NJ either.  Luckily I grew up in NY or I would not know how.  On 1 trip home we had a gentleman park at the pump in front of us with NJ plates.  He had to come up and ask me how to do it!  Trust me, you are not alone.
