well they didn't start harassing it until today. I feed my guppies 3 times a day so they are well fed. I'm sad to say that the guppy that was getting picked on died. i found him floating..:( i dont know whether to use tap or bottled water for water changes? would you know?

Water changes are a very difficult situation for most aquariasts only because of the amount of diffrent things that depend on how, where, and when questions For the most part people would assume that bottled water would be the best water for there fishes. But little did they (I) know that the minerals and whatnot that they filter out of the water does alot of harm, because some of those things the fish actually need to survive. (or atleast i lost alot of fish by using bottled water) So next would be the question you asked, is it best to boil the water, to get rid of imputities and excetra. But as an earlier guppylogers post read that with boiled (hot) water you release extra diffrent chemicals and excetra into the water. that can also do harm to your fish Now Ive heard of people using rain water collected from there roof's and while this can be a very clean form, sometimes its missing certain things, or might have some extra's depending on what collected it... What I do is fill a 5 gallon water jug up with my tap water, add a form of clorine remover and then let sit for over 24 hours, alot of time this will allow for the settling of harmfull ingrediants and the evaporations of others. But then again, I live in a very small town way way up north where it is still safe to drink our river water. So It really depends on alot of diffrent parramaters. But Im sure that after trying a few diffrent ones, you will be easily able to see which ones your fish prefer..
