Gold Gouramis tend to be on the aggressive side of the gourami spectrum as I was told.
Unfortunately, a weeeeee bit late.

I don't think that temp is a real concern, or lighting for that matter for gouramis can and will tolerate most conditions.  

My bet still lies in the fact that they need to establish their own domain to "settle in".
