Re: Guppies in Community Tank (none / 0) (#6)

I get asked a lot how I can keep Neons, Guppies and Angels in the same tank?

They just get along. They stay out of each others way and except when spawning - there is seldom a problem.
BUT, I do loose a youngster once in a while.

Change as much water as often as you can . . .

Hey Charles! I was surprised, while reading (none / 0) (#7)

a Wayne Leibel book on Cichlids of the Americas, to read his suggestion that angelfish are not really beginner's fish! Certainly you and many of the more experienced members of GL would do fine with them. I think he wrote that because newbies may not realize how big they get, how long they can live (like many cichlids) and how many smaller fish they can eventually inhale.

Having said that, one of the prettiest aquariums I ever saw was a 125 built into the wall of a living room. The aquarists building that home worked with the architect to arrange that. (One couldn't see from the living room that the laundry room was behind the tank and water was fairly easily changed.)

The tank was planted with slim plants, reaching upward. The Val was planted in thickets. A dozen or so angels regally cruised between those modest groves and a large piece of driftwood.

All the best!
