Interesting ideas! They, like all advice, should (none / 0) (#1)
by unclescott on Thu Jan 27, 2005 at 07:21:47 PM PST

be a starting point. (That goes for my advice too.)

Brack Calc 2.0.2 would be good until one can get a  hydrometer. I'm to the point now where I can eyeball how much feed salt is needed ina gallon jar to generate b.s. water at 1.023 plus or minus .001   But i did break my last hydrometer and need to replace it.

Can I Keep It?
Reminds me of the site recommended by a GL correspondent about 14 months ago. That site sounded less reliable than this software. I like the fact that it takes several variables into consideration. A nice learning tool.

Can you make changes in the program or send suggested changes to the guy who made it?

Fish Tank Tool 1.3starting points;  Again I can see where this would be handy. I'm lazy enough so that for conversions and calculations, I've a table in a handy book and bookmarked "Conversion Calculator" were I've done some figuring in units I'd only heard of. :)

I may try one.

If you down load one, let us know how it works. And thank you for sharing. :)

All the best!

Hi there unc,

If you know how to get to newsgroups with your email programme, you can find the thread and make the suggestons to the guy yourself. In my reader (Mozilla) I can only see threads dated from the 21st and can no longer see the original thread.

You can get to a web based version of the newsgroup via Google - alt.aquaria

OR

You can tell me what you want to say and I could pass it on, explaining that it comes via GL. I don't know that you would be able to adjust the programme, I still haven't downloaded it yet (it seems to be the week for everyone's old computers to die and of course they don't want to spend money on them so I have to try and get them all going again, 3 down, 2 to go - whew!! Might even get the cover back on my own pc which has been slogging away BACKING UP everyone's hard drives before I start working on them b/c of course they owners haven't done it - Hint, hint everybody reading this and while I'm on a roll, make sure you get and keep every CD or floppy disc you get with your computer).

Sorry, went off on a tangent there :)
If you need more info, let me know

Cheers

I agree with keeping all the CD's, and Floppy's.
Saved my arse a week or so ago...

Now I just need to buy a new CD Drive and Floppy drive for the "spare" computer, and get to work on that one.

Will the fun never end??

gg
:o)
