When are my females going to drop? | 13 comments (11 topical, 2 editorial, 0 hidden)
Re: If they are as big as you said, (none / 0) (#6)

Also, I have some bad news, because I'm having these Ammonia problems, and the Ammonia is breaking down which caused my Nitrite levels to SOAR!, all 5 of my baby fry died.. Now I'm very worried about my prego females...

I would definately be concerned.

What is the water temp of your tank MimiGuppy?

I would do daily water changes of about 25% and
be very careful of the temperature of the water
you use to refill. (try to keep it the same)

Rinse (or replace) the filter material and crank the filter up to the max.

Cut back on the food for a bit, or change over to live brine shrimp that leaves fewer leftovers.

Hope this helps.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Sorry I didn't reply, I didn't notice that there were any new comments since this article has been in the Moderate Log Entry section.. anyways, my tank temp. is 80 degrees and my filter is on high already. I have lowered their diet to fed once every other day with some flakes and half a cube of frozen blood worms. I actually returned my three females though because my Ammonia is still staying up even with these changes, and in return got three more males so that I don't have breeding problems. Plus they're pretty to look at! :) Anyways, I also have been doing water changes. I understand if you don't reply since I answered so late, but if you see this message, please do.

Hey MimiGuppy,
Saw your new post and this one, and it sounds like your situation is getting under control.

You might want to lower the temp a tad, but do it slowly, over a few day period.

You can use the Diary feature on this site to help you keep track of when you change things, or when things happen.

Even quick questions can be seen and responded to there.

Hope things keep going well for you.

Well MimiGuppy. most of us have taken a lot longer than you to find the Moderate Queue :))

You know, I waited to get emails back for my first 2 submissions as I didn't realize you could get to them before then. The regulars here know to keep checking in even to older entries when they get time.

Cheers
