Welcome to Guppylog StekiSetsudan! (none / 1) (#1)

What is the third fish is your tank? The molly and the female guppy will probably leave the guppy fry alone if they are well fed. If the molly is a female, she will probably drop in time.

One of the hardest things to do is to tell a person with a new aquarium that they also would benefit from a quarantine tank! But you have seen what happens with new fish coming in. Too many go out. They often have been exposed to all sorts of maladies and if they are weakened - Whammo!

I'm sorry. BUT you are most certainly not alone.

My computer and this web site are feuding, I tried pregnant and fry on this site's search engine and got nothing. (If you try Guppylog fry/ Guppylog pregnant on www.google.com you will get 100s of hits this morning.

So I went to the list of superduper site members and clicked on guppygirl and got a message "Who dat?" Sheesh!

If you hit the "more diaries" arrow, go back until you reach...

Our very own guppygirl has a nice series of shots of a female guppy dropping fry. It is as useful as anything you can find on the net. (If you have lots of time go to AltaVista.com and do a image or video search for guppies giving birth and you will get more, but probably will not learn that much more from them.

Female guppies are surprisingly individualistic in that their gravid spots will always be there, but will not all look the same. Nor will dropping females be equally rotund.

Some of Reza's female guppies looked so huge I expected firecracker sounds from the 40 gallon tank in the Lockwood living room. ;)

Please let us know what your third fish is. [Please let it NOT be an angelfish! ;) ]

You may want to read some of those other posts on feeding fry. Also look to see what you can do to make the tank safe for youngsters.

I'm sorry you lost so many of your fish. There is a silver lining: there is room for fry. :)
