I have quite a few balloon mollies and yes, at first I believe the fry look very similar.  I did notice though that at least with mine, there were a tad bigger than guppy fry.  As time goes on, trust me, their bellies will get bigger.  Soon they will be the spitting image of their parents, so cute in such a smaller form!
