I love your observation about the spontaneous generation of additional aquariums in a new home. :)

Your question revolves around what the balloon belly mollies look like. I've never had them but am curious too if they would show the paunch and spinal, um difference, even at that age.

Are there color differences between your mollies and guppies? Black mollies usually have black fry. :)

Anyone out there ever have balloon belly mollies drop?

My mollies are yellow, so I would assume the fry would have a light colour.

I have noticed that there are are a few fry with their tails/spine bent upwards. I decided to cull them as I usually do, and fed one to my angelfish. I then had a thought that they may be mollies, so I stopped the cull.

I'm in a bit of a predicament now I guess, because if they turn out to be guppies, I don't want them to mature with a bent spine. So if there's anyone who can advise, I'd appreciate it. I'll also do a search and see what I can find.

I have done a search for balloon molly fry, and come across an interesting site with some great fish photography. I think my fry with the bent tails are probably mollies. A photograph of balloon molly fry on this site shows bent tails.
