Coppersafe won't help much.. (none / 0) (#11)
by Angelee on Mon Jan 12, 2004 at 03:22:15 PM PST

It is a copper sulfate medicine.  Maracyn is in a small blue box with green stripes on it.  About 4" square.  It is in the fizzy tablet form.  I'm not sure about the other.  It does sound like Columnaris though.  Even though it doesn't sound like they have the saddleback look yet.  By the way, I had one in a quarantine tank from Petco recently.  Beautiful gold cobra, just like Julius, only yellow.   He came down with the noticable Columnaris cottony fluffs less than 12 hours after I got him.  None of the fish in his tank looked sick and Petco had just gotton them in that day!  I think when I looked up Columnaris they said they can get it from travel stress too.  I wonder if it got too cold, or jostled.  All of the ship gupps from LFS in my area looked okay,  until out of curoiusity I went back a couple of days later.  Not sure what's going on.
