No wait til the fifth day unless the water gets obnoxious and you just can't stand it anymore.  (Militant gravel vauumer.  I think it's a obsessive compulsive disorder thing or something. (snicker))  Just make sure the carbon is gone and I change the filter and carbon at day 5, not just the water.  I don't want any left over contamination in the filter.

Well, I did a gravel syphon this past weekend along with a water change after the 1st treatment so the tank should be ok for now.

Well, I came home from work and my big daddy had already past.  His stomach went down though over the last couple of days.  I was hoping maybe I caught it in time.  He was even swimming a little big more.  Poor guy, at least he's not suffering, right?  8(

I'm sorry Maggie.  Sometimes no matter what we do, we can't save them.  At least you didn't give up on him.  Just keep up with what you're doing and hopefully no more of your friends will hve thhe same fate.  You'll have nipped the Dropsy in the bud.

This was a sad one.  He was the king of his tank.  The tank looks so weird without him...  I have an "older teenage" male that I was thinking about keeping anyways.  I guess my mind is made up now.
